Golden Animals – Lipster New Band Feature
Who thought that dusty, fusty rock and roll would be one of the sounds of the brave new year 2008? Not me, guv, but then I thought I’d be the first Welsh female astronaut by now, eating my space cheese on the moon in a silver boiler-suit. Ah well, us mortals can but dream.
Anyway: back to the rock and roll, and straight into the warm, sweaty arms of Golden Animals, the boy-girl duo of Baltimore-born, guitar-strumming Tommy Eisner and Swedish-born drum-thwacking Linda Beecroft. Think less the White Stripes – although many lazy buggers will – and more about Moldy Peach Adam Green at his most bluesily romantic, backed up with layers of refreshingly energetic ramalama dust. They’re also incredibly hairy, which probably means they have special Samson-like powers, so put that trimmer away.
