Classic Track of Day – Giorgio Moroder

Back in 1999 HappyParts was digging through Amoeba $1.00 bins for records. I found a record by Giorgio Moroder and snapped it up. I returned home to listen non-stop to a power-pop, synth-pop all around classic. Do to un-manageability- my record collection vanished- but my good friend Jefferson replaced one of my all time favourites- Giorgio was the godfather of disco- he was revolutionary in using synthesizer in rock- I’d go on record to say ‘Son of My Father’ was ground zero for synth-pop as it was released in 1969/70- a good many years before Kraftwerk came on the scene- If only mainstream Hip Hop producers would dig into this album’s beats (DJ Shadow knew the score)- the world would then know, the genius of Giorgio Moroder. Dig In- double shot for ya’- As always if someone in the Giorgio camp wants me to take these down- let me know. My objective is to share the genius-
