HappyParts is not shy about his affinity for the movie Taxi Driver. The identification with the main character Travis Bickle resurfaces again and again – his interest in social work is key. The soundtrack, and score to the movie is one of the best ever. Just for kicks- through CD recorder: here are are two tracks found in the movie recorded direct from LP- if you listen closely- you will feel the warm analog glow of the vinyl. Travis’ diary can only be found on the original Artista LP version. And that beautiful slow dance on American Bandstand? Marty Scorsese brilliantly brought us in close, to be near the platforms riding shotgun to a warm embrace all framed by a song- Travis’ emotions were churning- Back then, there was no Paxil. Jackson Browne’s track “Late for The Sky” truly warms the soul. Dig in.
