Classic Track Of Day – Faces

1970 Warner Bros. #1892

Not sure if music and leaves are connected – but to HappyParts they are.  Autumn leaves, and the slow come down to winter – a  warm procession into sweaters.  So many bands try to emulate the sound and the feel, but there is nothing like the real thing.  “Bad ‘n’ Ruin” can be found on Long Player released in March 1971.  It’s chock full of British interpretation(s) of Memphis rock and roll sound. Die hard Small Faces fans wince at the idea that Faces meant anything after Steve Marriott packed his bags for Humble Pie.  When push comes to shove,  Autumn Stone or not – this track is still a keeper.
