Anyone who knows HappyParts – knows he is smitten with music from the motor city with it’s rich low-end, rock and roll history- The Stooges, Rare Earth, Grand Funk Railroad, Bob Seger System, Prime Movers, Mc5, The Rationals, Temptations, Amboy Dukes, Alice Cooper (born there at least), Cream Magazine too! I have been to several shows @ St. Andrew’s hall- played handball in the big dressing room. So when DTMT feature Golden Animals’ show – it’s amazing. The curious item (again): Tommy and Linda never thought about, or listened to The Doors while writing, or tracking their debut – if it happened- it was natural. The last great “modern” band to be compared to The Doors – was Joy Division – so HappyParts is quite comfortable with the reference. Timeless music is where it’s at. True Soul. Get out and hear some ‘Boogie Stomp Riffs.’ Thank you Megan.
