Something about Lux Interior’s passing led HappyParts to reach for the Danzig record. Not sure why. I just know that Glenn Danzig, like Lux was a trailblazer of sorts. He always went against the grain, and flipped the script. Like making a classic rock record with Rick Rubin. The thought of such a record was unheard of back then- Misfits fans were verklempt. The result? A **** timeless ‘mainstream‘ rock record, that still sounds amazin’ on a jukebox, in a dark smokey bar, full of sin. We need more musical warriors. We need true souls. Let’s write, and blog about bands with true soul – when they are alive. They will hide you from the waiting world.

This record was not allowed in the house I grew up in when I was a teenager. I now use it as the ringtone when my mom calls.
