Classic Track of Day – Verve

The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You” (1978)

Dolly Parton’s “Baby I’m Burning” (1978)

Rod Stewart’s “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” (1979)

Wings’ “Goodnight Tonight” (1979)

Queen’s “Another One Bites The Dust” (1980)

New Order’s “Blue Monday” (1983)

Primal Scream’s “Loaded” (1988)

Beach Boys’s “Here Comes The Night”(1979)

ELO’s “Don’t Bring Me Down” (1979)

Grateful Dead’s “Shake Down Street” (1979)

Pavement’s “Cut Your Hair” (1994)

Smashing Pumpkins’ “1979” (1994)

The list could go on- but I digress.  Some of the greatest rock and roll artists  have recorded dance numbers.  Surely you can’t  consider all the above tunes as  pure “disco” – however – the elements are clearly there.  HappyParts does not shy away from a powerful rhythm hook- It was ‘accidental disco‘  written by a psychedelic pop group called – Bee Gees.  whose songs happened to be placed in a movie about a Brooklyn discotheque that kind of ruined the fun for everyone.  (that soundtrack rules) That being said – I would like to add the following track to the list:

Verve’s “Love is Noise” (2008)

Loaded on a Manchester beat, stepped on with a  psych vocal loop.
