There’s something to be said about the genius behind rock super groups.  Love em or hate- him Jeff Lynne is a talented composer.   This crate digger loves him.  For some reason he got a bad rap over his Roy Orbison production work, Traveling Wilburys,  or his turning out The Move.   Not sure who I fancy more – Wings, Boston, Supertramp or  ELO – all groups are built behind some serious production geeks.   I tend to favor Jeff Lynne since he has an afro.  He mastered the art of symphonic arena rock,  sometimes 200+ tracks layered on one song.   God bless him.  Almost as cool as The Carpenters vocal overdubs.   Flood and Alan Moulder helped Billy Corigan come close on Mellon Collie. But what band do you hear on the radio more often?  That’s right! ELO.  Not too many double LP’s come out with Spaceships on the cover these days.  That took some chutzpah.
