Iggy Pop – Jazz Recording

HappyParts always wondered when Iggy Pop would deliver a jazz record. Let’s face it – his baritone pipes could provide an ultimate lover’s  vocal performance for some well selected pop/jazz  standards.  Imagine helping Iggy select the numbers- “Fly Me to the Moon” anyone?   Well that’s not exactly happening – but I am certain the project would re-coup ++ worldwide,  and land some great film syncs.  So many classic artists deliver cover records these days – (I think my favorite Jazz recording from a modern ‘alternative’ pop artist was Bjork’s outfit  Gling-Glo’) It’s about time Mr. Österberg.

Thanks to NME for the memo
