Classic Track of Day – The Clash

1977 Epic

1977 Epic

1977 was a great year for (punk) Rock and Roll.  It went down hill from there.   Sex Pistols were the creative result of a highly motivated fashionisto,  The Clash were the result of  brilliant songwriters.  Substance over style,  The Clash won the battle royal.  Where as punk is a bout a feeling or state of mind – punk ROCK requires talent.  The Clash debut mainlined the essential elements of primitive rhythm and blues, sans the safety pins.  When will the MOMA present a (punk) Rock retrospective? The Clash debut deserves it’s own floor.
