Classic Track of Day – Love

Perhaps the diversity in 60’s Los Angeles played significant role in the evolution of Love’s sound – parts punk, folk-rock, psych, garage, and latin – as debuts come – this one was ace. Hollywood must have been a gas in the 60’s:  See the show,  then head up into the canyon for the after party.  Hell – The Byrds, Led Zeppelin, Beach Boys, Manson Family – every club a scene:  Hollywood a Go-Go. I started hearing this tune performed live,  when I would catch Dilettantes’ sets.  Joel Gion got down on this tune.  There’s an underlying punk ethos to this number.  And to think this was just the beginning for Love’s celebrated career, and the evolution of the West Coast sound.
